Level 5 は、動詞の変化や過去形などの文法を理解し、短い文章が読めるようになっている生徒さん向けのクラスです。

本スクールでは、英検2級に合格できるレベルの生徒さんを対象とし、さらに英検準1級を目指していくクラスとして位置づけています。目標は、英語をより流暢に使えるようになることです。

このクラスでは、National Geographic が出版している Our World 5 を使用します。より複雑な英語の文章を読みながら、科学などさまざまなテーマについて学び、アプリを使ってご家庭でも学習を進めることができます。

環境問題、社会問題、道徳的なテーマなどについて考えながら、学期のスケジュールに沿ってレッスンを行っていきます。

文法の学習では、アメリカの小学校5年生レベルの文法にも取り組んでいきます。

グループレッスンのため、学期末には発表も行います。前に出て英語を話す経験を重ねることで、英語への不安を少しずつ減らし、自信につなげていきます。

私たちは、発表を完璧に行うことだけを目的にしているのではなく、子どもたちが人前で英語を話す機会を持ち、将来にもつながるプレゼンテーション力を育てていくことを大切にしています。

より複雑な文章を読み、内容を理解し、自分の意見を英語で表現できるようになること、そしてアメリカの小学校5年生レベルの文法にも親しみながら、より流暢な英語力を身につけることが目標です。

English

Level 5 is designed for students who already understand grammar such as verb changes and the past tense and can read short English passages.

At NYC, this class is intended for students who are already at a level where they can pass Eiken Grade 2, and who are aiming to work toward Eiken Pre-1. The goal is to help students become more fluent and confident in English.

In this class, we use Our World 5, published by National Geographic. Students read more complex English texts, explore topics such as science, and continue learning at home through the companion app.

Lessons also include discussions of environmental issues, social topics, and moral themes throughout the term.

In grammar study, students also work on grammar commonly taught in fifth grade in American elementary schools.

Because this is a group lesson, students also give presentations at the end of each term. Speaking in front of others helps them gradually overcome fear and build confidence.

Our goal is not simply perfect performance, but giving children opportunities to speak English in front of others and develop presentation skills that will benefit them in the future.

Goal: To read more advanced texts, deepen comprehension, express ideas in English, and build greater fluency while becoming familiar with grammar at the level of fifth grade in American elementary schools.
